Skin tags are small, benign, flaps, or stalks of skin typically located around the neck, underarm, and/or groin area. Some patients prefer to have skin tags removed.

Skin tags (also called acrochordons) are usually harmless but affect the cosmetic appearance of the area where they exist. For some patients, skin tags also get in the way by getting caught on jewelry or clothing, are itchy, and/or become irritated or bleed.

Before removal, skin tags should be differentiated from more concerning spots by one of our skilled dermatologists. The removal process is a simple in-office procedure, which can typically be done the same day as a diagnosis; however, many insurance companies do not cover this cosmetic service.
