Skin Tags & Skin Tag Removal
Skin tags, also called acrochordons, are small pedunculated pieces of skin typically located around the neck, axillae (underarm) or groin region. They are generally harmless pieces of skin that affect the cosmetic appearance of the area. Unfortunately, skin tags can get in the way, get caught on jewelry or clothing, and sometimes become irritated or bleed.
Skin tags needs to be differentiated from other more concerning spots before deciding on the treatment plan, but skin tags can then be removed for cosmetic improvement or symptom relief. The removal process is a simple in-office procedure that can typically be done on the same day as the diagnosis, but many insurance companies are not covering this service anymore.
