Seborrheic Dermatitis

Seborrheic dermatitis is a skin rash that can occur in all age groups. In infants, it is typically present on the scalp and called cradle cap. When present on the scalp in adults, it is typically referred to as dandruff, but seborrheic dermatitis is a rash that can appear on the face, chest and axillae (underarms) as well.

Typically, this rash can be itchy and red as well as flaky. The mildest cases can sometimes be controlled with OTC shampoos, but many cases require prescription shampoos or topical medications.
